About the James Bond sightseeing tour

James Bond Island Tour – Follow the footsteps of Roger Moore during this one day tour to James Bond island! This one day longtail boat trip takes you from your hotel in Ao Nang, Krabi town, Klong Muang or Tub Kaak to the famous Phang Nga bay. The tour includes transfers, lunch, (soft) drinks, life jackets, a professional guide and canoeing equipment. All tours are accident insured.

What to expect on the James Bond Island Tour

Our guide will pick you up with an air conditioned van at around 8:00. The exact time will be on your booking voucher and depends on your location.  We then drive towards the Monkey Cave temple, also known as Wat Suwan Kuha. During a short stop you can have a look around, feed the monkeys aor visit the temple in the cave. We then board a tarditional longtail boat near Phang Nga and set course for James Bond island.

This island, which is famous for its limestone spikes, became famous worldwide when Roger Moore visited it in the 007 movie ‘The man with the golden gun’. The limestone cliffs tower nearly vertical out of the crystal clear waters. Here we find the famous leaning rock with small caves: Khao Ping Kan where you can shoot your not-to-miss 007 pictures with Koh Tapu in the background. This rock is around 20 meters high, with a smaller diameter at the bottom (4 meters) than the top (8 meters). You can also find numerous stalls here selling wood and shell made souvenirs.

Then it’s time to head to the next island: Thalu. Here you can do a guided sea canoeing experience. After a brief introduction you wear a lifevest and hop on the canoe. Our guide will show you how to do it and bring you from Koh Thalu onto the mangrove rivers. See the amazing stalactite caves and limestone cliffs that make up this stunning scenery. Don’t you feel like canoeing? No problem! You can do some more sightseeing at James Bond island and all its sights.

Our next stop is Panyee floating village. This small island is where we enjoy a Thai lunch (vegetariand and halal options available). Watch the local fishermen do their work while you enjoy your lunch. The houses are built on stilts which makes this island a worthwile stop. You won’t see this everyday!

We then board the longtail boat again and cruise slowly towards our last stop. The Raman waterfalls are not only beautiful to see, but it also hosts an abundance of flora and fauna. Here you can see beautiful birds, monkeys, squirrels and if you’re lucky, deers. Enjoy the falls and the wildlife before we head back to the pier. From there we will bring you back to your hotel, where you should arrive at around 17:00.

Itinerary

• 08:00 – 08:30 – Pickup from your hotel in or around Krabi
• 09:00 – 09:30 – The drive to Phang Nga bay by air conditioned minivan takes around 1 hour
• 09:30 – 09:45 – Break at Khao Khao gas station (bathroom present)
• 10:00 – 10:30 – Longtail boat trip from Ta Dan Pier to James Bond island
• 11:00 – 11:30 – Visit James Bond island and Khao Ping Kan
• 11:40 – 12:00 – A 20 minute boat ride takes us to Thapu Island
• 12:00 – 12:40 – Guided canoeing trip in and around Lod Cave
• 12:40 – 13:40 – Trip to and lunch on Koh Panyee, the floating village
• 14:00 – 14:30 – Back to Tha Dan pier by longtail boat
• 14:30 – 15:00 – Visit the Monkey Cave
• 15:20 – 15:50 –  Visit to Raman waterfall. If there is enough water you can also enjoy a swim in the waterfall
• 15:50 – 16:50 – Return to Krabi
• 16:50 – 17:15 – Transfer back to your hotel or villa
